The slew drive system and cylinders on this Wharf Gangway are nearing their 10-year mark.
Pressure Dynamics was engaged by the client to replace all valves, hoses, change out worn and corroded components and give the slew drive assembly a full blast of paint.
As with any critical system there is a fine balance between operational needs and downtime for maintenance, scheduling played a key part in ensuring that the shutdown period was minimised and all components available for successful replacement.
At the end of the project, all critical components have been replaced and the hydraulic oil in the HPU tank was changed. The system was commissioned with smooth functioning on all movements.
