Pressure Dynamics has marked R U OK? Day by encouraging employees across the business to take time to connect, check in with one another and continue conversations around mental health and wellbeing.
This year’s R U OK? Day message, “Ask R U OK? Any Day,” reinforces the importance of checking in with the people around us not only on R U OK? Day, but throughout the year.
As part of the day, employees came together for a morning tea, providing an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, connect with colleagues and create space for meaningful conversations.
The team also participated in an online session with our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider, which focused on the importance of checking in with others and, just as importantly, taking the time to check in with ourselves.
The session provided practical guidance on how to start conversations with someone who may be struggling, how to listen and respond appropriately, and the steps that can be taken to help connect someone with additional support when needed.
R U OK? Day serves as an important reminder that you don’t need to be an expert to have a meaningful conversation. Sometimes simply asking, “Are you OK?”, taking the time to listen and showing genuine support can make a real difference.
At Pressure Dynamics, we recognise the importance of creating a workplace where employees feel supported and comfortable looking out for one another.
While R U OK? Day provides an opportunity to bring additional focus to mental health and wellbeing, the message extends well beyond one day.
By continuing to check in, stay connected and make time for conversations, we can all play a role in supporting the wellbeing of those around us.
